Living the dream on the Disney Dream!!

Hi there!  We are fresh off the Disney Dream and I must say that Bear Cub's first cruise was a major success!!  What a way to cruise...if you have the chance to go with Disney, please DO IT!  Wow...the ship was beautiful, service was great and it was totally kid-friendly.  It was pretty funny, but BC was SO nervous about getting on the ship as we waited in the terminal on Thursday.  He was even asking to GO HOME instead of getting onboard!  I think the unknown for him can just be too much sometimes!  I promised him that he would love it.  Thank goodness...Mama was right!  Within an hour of being on the ship, playing in the splash area and Mickey pool, BC proclaimed, "This is PARADISE!!"

It was a 3 night cruise that went to Nassau, Bahamas and then on to Castaway Cay (Disney's private island in the Bahamas).  We played on the boat instead of getting off in Nassau and then enjoyed a FULL day on the island.  Bear Cub brought his net and had created a homemade hand line with a plastic string, bent paperclip, and a lure he'd brought from home.  He did this for HOURS, so Daddy and I totally enjoyed sitting in our chairs at the water's edge and watching him go back and forth "fishing" --- for a while on his own, and then with a gang of boys that he recruited.  It was a fantastic day!

So now we are back to school and reality!  I've already started looking online for future cruises...it was truly fun and relaxing for us all!  Enjoy the pictures!!

Oh wow...I've done it again...or maybe NOT done it again...sorry for my bad blogging!  Thanks to my Aunt A, I am inspired to FINALLY update this baby!

We're doing well!  I can't believe it will be October tomorrow!  Eek!  Bear Cub is doing so great in first grade...making awesome grades, behaving himself, and just enjoying his days at school.  We couldn't be happier!

This year, I am the Volunteer Coordinator for the school's PTSO Board.  So on some days, I feel like I have a full-time, UNPAID job there!  It's great though...I love to see BC during the school day and I really enjoy getting to know so many of the folks that work there.  I'm not working part time anymore for the virtual school, so I am happy to help at his school, sub when needed, and then enjoy some time to myself, too!

The holidays are right around the corner now... I have an idea for BC's Halloween costume (you know how he loves to challenge my creativity each year!) and I'm even starting to make a Christmas list for him.  My goal is to stay away from so much "stuff" at Christmas.  BC still LOVES fishing, so I think we'll probably have a lot of new fishing equipment after the holidays.

One thing we're looking forward to...a Disney cruise coming up very soon!!  :)  We've never done Disney for cruising and this will also be BC's first bon voyage.  I think he's getting excited, too!  It's a 3-nighter, so it will be a good test run for a longer cruise in the future (if all goes well!).

I'll try to be better about blogging... but for now, know that all is well and we're just busy lil bees around here!!  Happy Fall!

 BC loved all the rain we had...it floods out part of a local trail and he loves to catch tadpoles!  We saw lots turn into frogs!

 He loved "TTT (Triple T)" a little turtle we saved from the road.  We kept it for 2 days, then released it near one of our ponds.
