Middle of May....already!?!?

Hi there!  We are enjoying a peaceful Saturday morning...getting some things done around the house and waiting for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive for lunch. It was a crazy busy week for us...and I am pooped!  Last week we went to Indiana for 4 days and had a great time!  The weather was a little dreary at times, and pretty chilly for us Floridians that are now dealing with 90 degree weather on a daily basis!  But, we were able to visit with lots of family and even squeezed in a visit with my long-time friend and her family that now live in Indy.  We were busy!  Enjoy the pictures....didn't take too many...Bear Cub pretty much happily dug in the dirt, looking for the HUGE earthworms that live up there.  He was in nature heaven!  That boy needs some property that he can dig in, get dirty on, and just EXPLORE.  He loves it!

Happy Easter!

Hi there and Happy Easter!  Wow...what a fantastic weekend we have had!  We went to Mimi's on Saturday and enjoyed a fun-filled and relaxing afternoon watching Bear Cub...and Zoe...swim, swim, swim!  We had a delicious Easter meal with Mimi and Aunt Cookie and enjoyed just visiting and spending some outside.  It was gorgeous out!

The Easter Bunny came to Mimi's and left BC some candy and a book that he LOVES called "Opposnakes."  He also got a K'Nex roller coaster set (yikes...even this small one was an engineering feat for Daddy to put together!) from us.  It was SUPPOSED to be from the Easter Bunny until that little stinker found it in my bags before heading to Mimi's.  I couldn't risk the "connection" being made so that gift then had to be from Mommy & Daddy instead.  It's all good! ;)

We then went out on Aunt S and Uncle T's boat with Grandma & Grandpa and cuz A.  We cruised to a nearby island and just soaked in the beautiful scenery and day.  Wow...it was great.  BC had such a blast on the beach.  He spent most of the time, just poking around in the sand and water, discovering all kinds of cool things and critters.  It was an explorer's dream come true!  :)

So, tonight as I reflect on this perfect Easter weekend, I am thankful for my family and the fact that we live so near.  Times like this are made special when you have the love of family around.  Have a wonderful week ahead!!

He had swam in his trunks earlier and after dinner and the egg hunt, he gradually kept getting deeper and deeper until he was just soaked in his clothes.  All in good fun!

2 sleeping kids, all snuggled in with Grandma.  So sweet!  The cutest thing...BC and cuz A were HOLDING HANDS as they slept.  I could have cried it was so adorable.  :)

Saturday F-U-N!

Here are some pictures from our fun and busy day yesterday!  We went to a local church's Easter Egg hunt/festival and Bear Cub had a blast!  There were games to play, animals to pet, slides to slide and eggs to find!  Not really "hidden" eggs, but still fun to grab and get the goodies from!  We also went to a neighborhood lake and did a little fishing...I swear...BC had literally JUST dropped his line in when he said, "Oooh!  I've got one!"  and sure enough, he had.  He's quite a lucky fisherman!

Daddy and I enjoyed a dinner date out -- I absolutely love our teen babysitter that we have.  She is SO great with Bear Cub and is willing to go on his crazy bug walks, try to catch lizards, and she always brings her little dog over to run and play in the yard with BC and Zoe.  She even complimented BC and how sweet he had been. She is the best!  I am so glad she's only a freshman...I want to keep her as long as I can!

We've had some gorgeous weather here...blue skies, no clouds and LOTS of warm sunshine.  It's been great.  Bear Cub is so happy to be outside...just poking around and exploring!

Busy week ahead...this is BC's last week of school before Spring Break (finally!) and I will be in Orlando for 2 days for work training.  I'm kind of looking forward to it on one hand, but on the other, it will just make for MORE work at the end of the week.  Oh well!  It'll all be good!  :)

Oh my...HI THERE! We're still here! :)

Hi everyone!  I can't even tell you how busy and hectic life is these days!  Between trips to the pool, library, bug walks, housework (well, sometimes, anyway), and WORK...the time just disappears!  We are doing great.  Bear Cub is busy and happy at school.  He is very proud that he can read his sight word flashcards that are being sent home now.  Me too!  :)

Let's see...last weekend BC and I drove up to Jacksonville to spend 2 nights with my best friend (from WAY back...24 years now...WOW!) and her family.  She has 2 cutie pie boys that BC had a blast with!  Each time we see them, I say, "Now THAT was the best visit the boys have had together!" and sure enough, I said it again this time!  They play really well together...of course, with the typical squabble here and there, but overall, I'd say they are 3 peas in a pod! :)  It's so awesome to still be so close with my friend E and the fact that our boys will grow up together is so special.  I don't know how many people have friendships like that in life.  I feel very blessed to have that in mine!

The boys did go CATERPILLAR crazy together...collecting probably 30+ caterpillars.  They were all over the place!  Well...wouldn't you know...that BC and even friend B started getting some SPOTS on them.  Hmmm...we thought they were bug bites, but then Mimi Bear mentioned a news story she'd seen about a certain type of caterpillars causing an itchy rash.  Yup...same type of caterpillars that were crawling all over the boys, going for car rides, Jeep rides, pretty much everywhere!  Ha!  I took BC to the doctor yesterday and she confirmed it...no worries...the spots will fade...in a FEW WEEKS.  Oh, brother.  Back to the "No picking up caterpillars!" rule.  :)
