Hellooooo out there!

Oh, the fun we have with boxes around here! This week he made a "frog house," and we played "Frog Family" for quite some time! :) We even had a song to go along with it....to the tune of "The Addams Family," but frogs...of course! :)
Yes, the boy will eat carrots again! AND make them into snake fangs for fun!
Just chillin' on the frog at MOSI. He saw his first "real" movie that day...an IMAX movie! Talk about jumping right in to the whole movie experience! He asked SO many questions during the "ancient reptiles" movie. Oh my. He was hooked though!
Some sort of hands-on fun at MOSI
Awwww...his very first tatoo! ;)

Hi everyone! Ok...I have officially become a bad blogger. :( I'm sorry! Things have been going pretty well here lately...just really, really busy. My work is coming along and I am happy to say that I think I'm finding a good routine for myself and the family! Bear Cub has been busy studying snakes (his new love) and still collecting frogs. Oh my! I see some improvements with his handwriting skills and he seems to be recognizing more and more words in books. I think the boy will be reading by the time he's 5! Or at least, really on his way!

Let's see...in the past couple of weeks, we've to MOSI (the Museum of Science and Industry), visited with family for Auntie A's baby shower (BC's baby boy cousin will be here in about a month!) and have suffered through another round of colds and a short stomach bug. Oh my!

We are looking forward to a restful weekend ahead. I can't believe it's October tomorrow! Time is flying...BC wants to be a snake for Halloween, but so far, I have not come across any costumes. Geez...is this going to be a replay of Halloween 2 years ago with the infamous homemade duck costume!?!?!?

Enjoy the pics from the last couple of weeks!! Happy October to ya! :)

Blast from the past...

Happy Friday, everyone! Whoa...what a whirlwind week! And we have an even busier weekend ahead with Auntie A's baby shower tomorrow. I'll hopefully get some NEW pictures up soon, but I had to post this one...from just about a year ago. Bear Cub has grown SO much since then! I could hardly believe my eyes while I was looking at this one. He has changed so much. I love this one...and still remember how cute he was, running around naked, with all of those beads swishing around him! :)

Have a fabulous weekend! :)

Still here!

Hi there! Sorry for my lack of blogging...it was a busy week last week as I was away for a 3-day conference for work. It was awesome. I came back loving my job...and now it's Monday and the realities of it all have sunk in again! Ha! :) All is well...it just keeps me BUSY! There are so many things I'd like to try, but can't seem to find the time. Ahhh...eventually!

I promise to post pictures soon...for now, it's bedtime. I'm tired! My days are filled to the brim with Bear Cub and work. Laundry? Um....ya...I eventually get to that too at some point! :)

Have a good one!

FFF = Fish Feeding Friday! :)

Happy weekend! We had a good week...so short! Bear Cub did have to stay home from school on Friday because of some upset tummy issues on Thursday, but he seems to be feeling better and back to his busy self. We did get out for a bit on Friday with some old bread to try and feed some fish in the neighborhood. Success! I think the fish were fat and happy by the time we were done! Enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful weekend! :)

Happy Labor Day!

These 2 are true brother and sister...they even sleep the same!
Yes, another frog in the house!
Hugs! The vacuum hose...it's actually his pretend "anaconda" that he slithers around. It doesn't take much for him!

Fun with the air mattress
Levitating Zoe! I LOVE this picture. It cracks me up! :)
Trying to get to the grasshopper that BC had earlier released. Can't believe that thing didn't take off when it had its chance!

Hi everyone! I hope you've had a fantastic, LONG weekend! Wow, I am enjoying this official day off! :) We have had a great weekend...went to the aquarium on Saturday, the pool, the park (a couple of times), and today, a nice family trip to IKEA and Wal-Mart. Can't beat that! :)

Bear Cub had a pretty good week at school last week! We had Mimi Bear here for a night and it was fun for her to see BC's school and meet his teachers. Bear Cub is liking his school and has no problems getting up and going each morning. I think he's a bit squirmy during lunchtime, but we'll keep reminding him of the right way to behave! They serve some great lunches there...none of which BC will TOUCH. Oh my. He did pick the cheese out of his grilled cheese on Friday...so worth that extra wrap-around money I pay for him to stay. Ha! Hopefully this week will be a good one for him, too.

My work is going well...still kind of in the same position of trying to figure out the best routine and how to manage the amount of calls that come in and need to be made. I'm getting there! :) I officially close my computer and don't answer my cell from about 12:30-4:00, which gives BC and me lots of good together time and the chance to get out and do some fun stuff. I'm getting a lot done while he's in school each day...so glad he's going 5 days this year...I think it's really helping him get into a routine too!

Enjoy the pictures! Have a great week ahead! :)

Howdy!

All smiles with his teeny tiny grasshopper he caught...
The scientist and his fearless assistant, checking out a frog that he caught. (Is there a common theme around here? Geez!)
Dangling frog...and no, Zoe did not get it as a treat. ;)
Who doesn't love a frog on their shorts?

Hi there! Well, the last week has been filled with school, swimming, and as you can see, many creature collections! Bear Cub is doing pretty well in school. We discovered that leaving him for "rest time" might not be the greatest idea...the boy can hardly rest at home, so it's a bit more distracting for him to be in a room with 15 kids! Ha! But that's ok, I'm just now getting him after lunch. :) Maybe as the year goes on, we'll work our way into rest time. Maybe...

My work has been busy, busy. I'm still trying to get it all organized. I'm doing the job,and all parts of it, but I feel like there has got to be a better way to juggle it all. There are lots of phone calls to make, many students calling me for help, and a constant inbox of assignments to grade. Phew! I'm learning to close it all down for a few hours each afternoon to give myself a break, and to give BC some fun Mommy time. We're still going to the library, the pool, and to the park, so life hasn't changed too much for him! :) I'm just EXTRA tired at night now!

This past weekend we celebrated Daddy's birthday! It was a pretty quiet day, although he and I did get away for a dinner just to ourselves. I think I have found the perfect babysitter for BC...he loves this girl! He even told her as she walked away, "I love you! I will miss you when you're gone!" :) It was nice to have a relaxing meal and know that he was having a good time, too.

Have a fantastic day! I'll try to update again...sooner than later this next time! :)

First Day of School!

Ready to go to school! No big backpack this year (ha! Remember last year?)
No matter how old he gets..he will ALWAYS be my baby! :)
Off we go!
Outside of his school...
Jumping in for some Playdoh fun at school! :)

Yesterday was Bearcub's first day of big 4-year-old preschool! OH MY! We'd been hyping it up for him...the new school, a different playground, cool centers, and drumroll, please....the chance to eat snack in a real cafeteria! Oh yes, we have hit the big time! :)

He did really well and I was so proud of him! As we were leaving, he had to run upstairs to bring faithful Biscuit with us in the car. He hugged him all the way there and then got him all settled in the car so Biscuit would be comfy while he waited for him to return. BC held my hand all the way in and was ready to get in and start playing right away! I really think he was trying to be a brave boy. I think he was feeling a little nervous (who doesn't on the first day?) and I know he's been thinking about making friends. He has told me several times lately, "Sometimes it's hard to make new friends," and it's been a great lead-in to a little talk about the fact that it does take some time to make new friends, but yes, it does happen!

I don't think he really made any new friends yesterday. He pretty much sticks to himself, I think. He did say he liked both of his new teachers, he liked the snack of blueberry muffins and milk, and he was VERY excited by the fact that he caught a grasshopper out on the playground. :) Today is a longer day for him. He'll stay for lunch and then "rest time." Oh boy. With how active he is, I seriously doubt he'll rest, but we can hope!

I'm really happy with his new school - his lead teacher seems so sweet and gentle. I think that is what he needs! So, here's wishing for another successful day at school! :) Have a happy day!
