our Bear Cub will be 2 years old!!! Oh me, oh my...I can't believe it! He knows to say "two" when we ask how old he'll be on his next birthday...but beyond that, I don't think he has much of an idea of what it all entails. We celebrated his first birthday last year in Russia with a group of adoptive families who also had babies close to his age. That was a fun and special celebration - we had Winnie the Pooh party accessories and even a cake with candles for each baby to "blow" them out. What a difference this year has made!
This past weekend we had a visit from our social worker. Her report has to be in Russia by August, so that is why she came a month before our actual adoption anniversary (July 13). She is a great woman, very easy to talk with, kind, and FAST with her paperwork! She is a big reason why our adoption sped along so quickly. I have heard that it takes several months for some social workers to complete the initial home study paperwork. Well, with our wonderful social worker, it took less than a week after her first visit! She is awesome! She was really pleased with how well Bear Cub is doing and couldn't believe how much he's changed since her visit in December. He's a growing boy, that's for sure!
Enjoy the pictures from the last few days! Have a wonderful week ahead!
He still loves his books...and gives the big "Cheese!" grin when the camera appears!
Our fabulous social worker!
